It's hard to justify logic on an asteroid field that literally pops into existence between two opposing battlecruisers. The pull, though, would be caused by the massive magnetic field created by a cluster of highly reactive exotic 'green' matter. Removing the green matter eliminates the magnetic field. It's all magnets.
As for a visual cue I think that's a good idea. I think the graphic from Nova's Domination ability from WoL would be a good indicator of what's going on. There could be a better graphic, of course.
Don't like the idea of a self-destructing kermiculite field. Keep in mind newbies do get some advance warning that the kermiculite field is forming. We can change the text message that pops up and make the warning come up earlier/longer if that will help. Also, keep in mind that this probably won't pull the BC into a fight unless both teams are flat-out ignoring the kerm.

"Why are we still moving towards it?"
"We're caught in a tractor beam! It's pulling us in!"

Re: Kermiculite Field -- BC Attracting
the field doesnt appear it forms, and logically it could form if a black hole gathered the kerm into place. Logic isnt everything but at least make the occurrence make sense.
