BC Hit & Run Tactics

Something I haven't seen make a comeback with the fixing of the kerm fields is the usage of the BC's mobility. Teams are more content to be setting engine power to something low and having the BC sort of drift from asteroid field to asteroid field, not putting to use the biggest gun in their arsenal except for a final showdown.

I would expect rush tactics to supersede any hit and run tactics, but I haven't seen any rush tactics at all since the patch. The dominant strategy I've been seeing has reverted to 'research everything, fully charge everything, load all missiles & yamato, bank 500 minerals, then go kill the enemy BC cause there's nothing left to do'. Is this really the best strategy?

Theres no such thing as a "best strategy" all strategy is situational. if our miners kick major ass early game we can rush, knowing that the worst case scenario is that the other team mined equally as well, hit and run tactics are clever but require a powered dock to maintain engine speed and weapon firing and also require a drainage of hull for drifting at high speeds. rush tactics still exist and work, it all comes down to weather your surprise attack is actually a surprise or had been noticed, or if your teamates are smart enough to man the bc quickly.

as far as im concerned the best strategy is to focus economy early game get a group of intelligent miners and harass their economy carefully with a wraith, if that wraith fails focus defense with your corvette and bc to protect yours from a counter attack, if your miners do well you can rush, if you kill a single miner its better to continue to focus your economy and drag the game out, you have a 1 miner advantage which can only be reset with the expense of 75 yellow 75 blue, on the recieving side if you lose a miner its smart to attack then and there if your able, knowing your mineral advantage has plummeted you will want to try to get out there and do some reasonable damage to make up for it.

I really enjoy Hit and Run tactics, but such games require a good Nav, Wep, Pwr team, level 1 Stabilizers, and Boost. Communicating complex intent, and then having players execute the actions properly is... rare. Currently I only do such things with other CCA members.

An increase in missile efficiency would also help this game style.
