Survival skill for a chomper

Since blink on a chomper can be OP, I thought of a few ideas that can give the chomper a survival skill.

Every ship has a survival skill (except destroyer but it does a ton of damage). A miner can warp out, corvette has reflective shield, and a wraith can strafe which allows it to gain a lot of speed. However, the slowest unit in the game (chomper) has no survival skills.

Here are some I thought of:

1. Afterburn- doubles (or triples?) the chomper's speed for 5 seconds. 30 second cooldown. 250 energy.

2. Booster shield- gives the chomper a shield equal to energy amount. Damage taken takes away energy points. Costs 100 energy to cast. Energy regen affects shield regen but is halved when shield is up. This will give the chomper a way to dump its energy too.

3. Shield boost- Gives a generic 250 shields to the chomper that last 20 seconds. 45 second cooldown. 200 energy cost.

4. Fuel injection- Boosts away the chomper at 60 m/s. Will cost 50 of a non-green mineral in cargo to use. If nothing in cargo, it will not work.

5. Blink- 7 range. No cooldown. 300 energy. Basically a one time use with that energy cost. Using it will apply a debuff to the chomper halving its energy regen for 25 seconds.

6. Reflective shield- just like the corvette ability

7. Emergency cargo capsule- sends a cargo capsule at the battlecruiser. 3 minute cooldown. Should have a slightly bigger model than miners cargo. This can be though of as a last resort thing. 200 energy. The chomper itself will not have any defensive abilities.

Stromahawk, thank you for your suggestions.

However, this is a cooperative game, in which communication and supportive team actions are paramount. The Chomper does not require a boost to its survival. If you think it does, then you are using it incorrectly, and are probably pissing your teammates off.

There are currently 3 excellent strategies for Chomper use. Please think about the different game elements, and actions, that can be used in combination, and you will discover that the Chomper is fine as is.

We all think that way, except those who only played a few games and do not know anything about tactics. Chomper is meant to be vulnerable away from cruiser and doesn't need a boost of any sort, except if the specialization will be added for all of the ships. But that doesn't include neither a boost, nor a blink.

Saying that a chomper requires survival skills, helping it to fast chomp fields half map away and come back is like saying that a minelayer should be having destroyers barrage abbility.
