so all today, when I was running power, I would run power to 1 thing or another pretty high up (shields or engines or weapons) and then after 20 seconds of it being that high, it would kick the level back down severally

This sounds weird. Were you increasing the output of the core beyond normal levels? When the core stability goes down, several different power fluctuations can occur. One of those is to slightly change the power settings.

Another possibility is that you got hit by wasp light missiles which modifies your power settings.

If you don't think it was either of those, give me the replay and I'll have a look.

Played power all day did not notice this problem once..
