Thanks to a new feature brought back from starcraft to starcraft 2, people in a party now have access to content from the highest expansion.

This means (from what all i read) that CC can upgrade to HOTS content freely (limited and reverts outside of party), and all a player who has WOL or starter content needs is to be partied up with a individual with HOTS in order to play

Players who own WoL or HotS 'upgrade' the version the starter edition players have in the party up to their version.
But this only works as long as they're in the same party and the WoL/HotS player is the party leader.
If you aren't in a party anymore, the starter edition players are back to starter edition restrictions.

If you don't have WoL, you won't be able to join CC on your own as a starter edition player.

Conclusion: No, iNsOmni can't use HotS assets just yet without halving the CC community, which would be a bad idea currently.

No, it's obvious what you mean. However, this will have a very detrimental effect on new players. Do you think they will stick around to find someone with HotS to help them play the custom game? No, they'll just move along to the next custom game in the list.

However, it's a great update, and it's nice that you made the thread to inform the people who didn't know about it.

its a really cool update...there always seems to be 2-3 people in our massive pro parties that have WOL, and i kinda want the new avatar...CARBOT ANIMATIONS!!!!!

I haven't found the avatar D= was interested in it, but mostly interested in the community uplifts :p

you just need to spawn someone, if they have WOL or a demo/limited edition and you play a game with them you will get the portrait
This also means we can look to HOTS stuff simply because the community is now by and large HOTS

(did and didnt work, then all sudden next day, I had portrait... I swear achievements not work properly for spawning or the anniversary when i got them at first XD)
