Changing Emergency Sheilds

the hardest part about being surprised and killed by enemy BC (which happens in many a game) is power management, while navigation and weps is easy to jump on and boost away, this ends up being a chase, the problem with power that it takes time to boost shields up.
even using shield boost just doesn't cut it. and the emergency shields just doesn't do its job even coupled with shield boost.

The new BC Emergency Shield Energizer will do this -
for every upgrade (3)
Power will auto shoot shields to 100(/200/300) (2000 shield strength(/4000/6000)) + BC standing shields (2000/2000) (4000/4000) (6000/6000)

Now the cost of this! which will make it...less worthwhile to use and more of an emergency!
10,000 power (because most BCs attacked usually have full power, 1/10 power gone, doesnt matter in short run)
-20% down on core stability, as the sudden super power surge really damages the core!
(might also consider using Blue resources)
Cooldown - 35 seconds

The Upgade Cost -
First one - 25Y 100B
Second one 75Y 175B 25R 10G
Third one 100Y 250B 50R 25G

Instead of people jumping on nav and power and trying to jump shields up and running away so its possible, this will allow them the chance to turn around and fight, they will be at a disadvantage from surprise still but i think think this is better as it will create head on battles, which most people like to see, also this means that even if shields go down (which usually was the deciding factor of who would win) they will be able to redeploy shields again.

Might also consider an advanced shield Energizer with 500 power and 10K/10K shields -25% core -15,000 -75 Blue Resources and cost of 125Y 300B 125R 50G for end game purposes after purchasing the other ones first of course! that will share CD with the Shield Energizer so power has the option to decide if they need big jump or medium jump

basically makes rushing and surprises attack totally useless...

edit: let me elaborate on the math behind that too.

2000 shield cost 10000 energy to charge the normal way. in other word, this upgrade is energy efficient even at level 1, using it doesn't even cost energy. at level 2 it's 200% efficient and at lvl 3 its 300% energy efficient.

now we could always make it cost more. then again, it just makes rushes/surprise attacks impossible. so this upgrade will force players to fully upgrade before attacking, in other words pushing the game direction into 1h+ games. I must say, I'm kind of tired of those.

It is the captains job to be at the right place at the right time, to have the right amount of shield when needed. if he can't do it, just get a new captain.

So basically you want a second Shield Boost ability, except that it raises the shields for you before you hit Z.

Calad is right though. 2000 shields at 20 shield regeneration a second (100GW power) takes 10000GW of energy. It's silly energy efficient. Even if it wasn't, I don't see the point when we already have the Shield Boost ability -- power was designed to take time to alter on purpose, which means you have to be constantly aware of your surroundings. Scouting your enemy's position is a part of the game, and it's quite easy to do by simply hitting an R button. Shit, it's even going to be done for you when Siretu shifts ping to the Science Console and sets it up so that drones can do it.

Let's not forget that currently, the only advantage of attacking is to try and catch your opponent with shields down. attacking takes energy (engine) that your enemy doesn't waste. so when you attack you start with less power. IF the enemy can completely avoid that with 1 button, I don't wanna attack anymore. I'll just turtle and wait to be attacked.

I cannot see any good reasons to add that. EXCEPT to babysit newbies. but then again, pros are gonna abuse it just as much to destroy newbies even more.

Let's remove the training wheels.
