Cruiser Command

This is an idea i had, where you can sacrifice life for extra speed. At about 5% extra speed you loose 1% life, 10% speed = 2% life, 15% speed 3% life every second. I think this would be cool as it gives those a chance without any thruster upgrades to get away, and adds more depth and fun to small ships (all though this could be applied to the BC, but BC has a variable amount on engines)

The major flaw in this is that it's a 'mirrored ability' -- if you give all ships emergency thrust with the stipulation being health, both sides will quickly just activate emergency thrust and it effectively nulls itself out -- or rather in some cases gives the attacker, the one with more health the advantage.

In order for something like this to be a workable possibility, you need a more appropriate trade off -- giving up your 'offense' for a 'defense' (escape) by example. 'Disabling weapons' would be the first obvious answer to go to in such a case.

... all the same, I think I'd prefer not to include such a concept. Those who properly employ decoy flares can typically make a full run back to their BC if they so desire.
