Increase the number of small ships upgrades, maybe mutually exclusives for each ships or upgrade trees. Or add downside to upgrades

This would move the spotlight to small ships, it would also allow the use of small ships during BC fight to be more effective due to shields being weaker and BC dmg output lower. BC shield nerf and weapon balances themselves out, only the hull is twice as effective (except against Kinetic) It would make BC fights longer, allowing Small ships to again have a higher impact during a fight.
Why BC engine speed? because maybe, just maybe it would allow roaming with the BC to be possible. It might remove the BC doesn't move until kerm or final attack stigma.
the Increase cost of BC upgrades but not small ships pushes the game again toward the SS strategy, at least making it more viable.
The Scorpion Light Missile is unique in the fact that it is the only fragmenting missile in the game. After traveling a short distance, it will explode and evenly send out fifteen projectiles which each strike for considerable hull and shield damage. It is likely the best missile to use against Small Ships since it is easy to aim at a short distance. As of 30/3/2014 this missile can not hit the enemy Battlecruiser

Basics
Strong anti-capital ship. Good for dealing terrible, terrible damage to the enemy Battlecruiser.

Abilities
~Quantum Bombardment

~Chroniton Torpedoes

~Seismic Disturbance

~Quantum Leech

Pro tips
* The Destroyer's Quantum Bombardment attack is long ranged, make good use of its range when attacking the enemy Battlecruiser.
* Use the Destroyer in combination with a Predator Heavy Missile, or frequent navigation pings. This way you can aim your shots from outside the view range of the enemy Battlecruiser.
* Do not pilot the destroyer unless the team requests you to do so. It is an extremely expensive ship, and losing it needlessly is a sure-fire way to annoy your team-mates and potentially lose the game. In addition, the Destroyer provides valuable energy regeneration to the Battlecruiser while docked, which is lost if you're flying it out in space for no reason.
* Make sure you launch on the correct side of the Hangar if asked to pilot the Destroyer, so that you may use the Battlecruiser as a shield against enemy fire. Coordinate with your Navigator for this.

This would move the spotlight to small ships, it would also allow the use of small ships during BC fight to be more effective due to shields being weaker and BC dmg output lower.
Pimp BC's engine to have 125% of current speed
Increase cost of BC upgrades. (150-200%)

Nerf Corvettes dmg vs shields to 50%

Increase the number of small ships increases, maybe mutually exclusives for each ships.

__NOTOC__
Six types of small ships are usable in Cruiser Command.

Miner
Your Battlecruiser starts with 3 miners. It is the most important small ship of the fleet, allowing your team to gather mineral.

Wraith
Your Battlecruiser starts with 1 wraith. It is a quick assault small ship. Its goal is usually to kill enemy miners or disrupt enemy mining operations.

Corvette
Your Battlecruiser starts with 1 corvette. It is a defensive ship usually used to counter wraiths.

Minelayer
The minelayer can be bought. It is the only support small ship. Some of its abilities are to heal hull or shield or place mines to ambush enemy ships.

Chomper
The chomper can be bought. Alternative to a miner, it is a slow ship that can gather asteroids in one melee action.

Destroyer
The Destroyer can be bought. It is a slow, large, heavy-firing ship specialised to hit battlecruisers.
Basics
A support ship. It is one of the fastest small ships, alongside the miner. It is not very tough but has a high energy storage and regeneration.

Abilities
~ The minelayer can drop a mine which will travel towards the most nearby enemy and explode.

~ [EMP MINE: INFORMATION REQUIRED]

~ The distress beacon is basically an item left behind by the minelayer which emits a constant signal. It will be recorded by pingers on the battlecruiser and can cause distractions or mislead enemies.

~ The minelayer is the only ship that can repair a ship's hull (whether small ship or battlecruiser). The nanite-based repairing materials are randomly released from the front of the ship, in a narrow cone.

~ The minelayer can also remotely recharge shields in a similar system to the Nano-Hull spray [see above].

Tips and hints
* Many distress beacons can confuse an enemy and make them lose time trying to destroy them.

* Place mines strategically, for example in an asteroid field or as somebody is following you. Beware as mines may cause lag if in excess.
