Triple Burst is a relatively cheap upgrade that allows you to fire Lasers in sets of 3 rounds from the Weapons Console. To activate triple burst, click "switch to triple burst", then use the weapons console as normal.
Overall, the number of shots per second increases noticeably however triple burst is less efficient than single burst, consuming a total of 500 energy (while Single Burst only consumes 100). On the other hand, the increase in dps often is the difference in getting a kill or saving an ally. Triple Burst raised dps also forces enemy Battlecruisers to raise shields higher when under fire, consuming more of the enemies energy. Compared to Penta Burst, Triple Burst is a good compromise between damage output and energy efficiency.
Some features of Triple Burst:
- The Triple Burst, gains an energy (only cost 250 energy instead of 500) and cooldown bonus when they haven't been fired for 5 seconds. This bonus lasts for a couple of seconds, before returning to normal, after you start using the Triple Burst.
- Triple Burst damage is improved by upgrading lasers.
- Triple Burst energy cost can be reduced by Tier 3 offensive.
