The radar ping however does not detect enemy ships carrying a frequency nullifier, enemy infiltrators (infiltrators all have a multistatic anti-radar) and Cargo Drones.
- The Dielectric Sensor Recovery upgrade reduces the cooldown of radar ping, and can be upgraded from the upgrades console.
- Drones automatically use radar ping, whenever it is off cooldown, when issued from the AI console the science order.
- Minelayers can plant Distress Beacons which are identified as enemy miners by your teams radar ping.
- The Radar Ping detects all ships, while the Wraiths, "Miner Ping" ability only pings enemy mining ships (Miners and Chompers), timing the 2 scanners allows you to differentiate between the enemies miners and offensive ships/Battlecruiser.
