Radar ping is an ability used from the science console. The radar ping is your main scanner that detects and pings all ships on the minimap and displays these pings to all allied players. The radar ping however does not detect enemy ships carrying a frequency nullifier or an enemy infiltrator (infiltrators all have a multistatic anti-radar).
The Dielectric Sensor Recovery upgrade reduces the cooldown of radar ping, and can be upgraded from the upgrades console.
Drones automatically use radar ping, whenever it is off cooldown, when issued from the AI console the science order.
