Possessing enhanced thrusters will allow your Small Ships to move more swiftly, and consequentially allow them to chase, escape, and perform their designation much more effectively. More than that, the map can be quite vast for a vessel that moves less than 30m/s, so the boost in speed may also allow for you to execute strategies much more quickly.
