Triple Burst is a relatively cheap upgrade that allows your Weapons Console to fire Lasers in a triple burst. Overall, the number of shots per second increases noticeably in exchange for the three shots consuming a total of 500 energy, which is far more than the cost of a Single Burst which only consumes 100. On the other hand, the increase in damage per second can often make the difference in some scenarios where you may be forced to kill a Small Ship quickly, or try and force an enemy Battlecruiser to drain more energy on their shields. Compared to Penta Burst, Triple Burst's upgrade, it is a good compromise between damage output and energy efficiency.
