Quintet
I recently came across a starship bridge simulator game called Quintet. If you're familiar with Artemis, the best way to describe it is as like Artemis but more action-ey. If you're not familiar, it's a fully 3d game where 1-5 people control various aspects of a space ship, such as tactical or ...

Re: Raven ship
Hrrrrm. While I suppose you're right about the no attack, giving it a weapon that's purely designed to 'damage people' also feels really uncharacteristic.
I can't really respond cause I don't know what would be 'characteristic' for this ship. Science gun could be debuff focused or knockback ...

Re: Proposal to enhance BC-ness of CC
1: AI/Bots can no longer use weps.
Eh. On one hand, I agree with the idea AI shouldn't kill. On the other hand, the AI is pretty bad at wasting laser fire, the only advantage it has is at being able to spam that right click. I'd rather weapons be made more interesting instead, and have people ...

Re: Raven ship
The raven as originally listed sounds like a destroyer++, trading HP for speed and being much, much cheaper to field, and I'm pretty sure it's energy drain/sec and damage/sec is way higher too. Unless this is replacing the destroyer I don't like it. The destroyer is already the ship of draining ...

Re: General thoughts
I got tons.
Miners - I have said in the past mining should be AI only. If you get a miner, it autolaunches with its own AI. Otherwise, yeah it's pretty boring. Plus, they can be rebalanced without turbo boost but with higher HP so that less binary fights can focus around them-- hunting miners that ...

Re: The Current Balance of Ability Types
I don't think that's the answer. The reason is the same reason I don't think just flat out removing the upgrades is good either (except for vessel energy upgrades, which eliminates the importance of power management for miners, wraiths, and corvettes). Good piloting is an important part of CC, but I ...

Re: The Current Balance of Ability Types
Allowing light missiles on small ships can change that, 600 damage up front (assuming you even land the missiles because they are slow and have no tracking) can change the late game to faster and more deadly engagements.
EDIT: Although it should most likely be an upgrade because it would be to ...

Re: The Current Balance of Ability Types
I agree with this. I think buffs have gotten too far carried away though.
TBH, I've always felt that most of the small ship upgrades cheapen the depth of dogfights. Energy management for the miner is a big deal... until energy upgrades make it literally impossible to run out of energy. Hull ...

Re: Tractor Beam things and such
What if recasting the tractor beam while it was out made it go toward the new location?
