FTL
FTL (for those of you who dont know 'shameonyou' FTL is Faster Than Light) FTL is a steam indie game that you should look up, its a rouge somthing and basicly you control a ship and crew giving you major vibes of Cruiser Command and vice versa. You should buy this game its only 10 bucks i think and it is incredibly unforgiving! which is always good!
Oh its not orders I'm giving, but rather... "aggressive suggestions".
Re: FTL
Yes, I am also a huge advocate of playing FTL. There is an arcade like pacing to the game and the levels. There are so many different strategies you can use and it has a randomness that each game you play can be drastically different from the last. However, my favorite thing in FTL is the music (which is available as a soundtrack on steam).

Re: FTL
I have never actually played FTL. I've watched some videos about it and I've seen people play it and my friends love the game. However, I haven't bought it because I don't think I'll have the time to enjoy it properly.
Never ignore coincidence. Unless, of course, you’re busy. In which case, always ignore coincidence.

Re: FTL
Well, that's the great thing about it! What I meant by "arcade" like is that you can play through (then post your high score, hopefully) and then walk away without the feeling to keep putting time into it.
I have only logged 13 hours in FTL (over 6 months) according to Steam and love it as much as Cruiser Command where I have definitely played more than 20 hours in the last week.
I think the reason I feel OK with walking away from FTL is that it can be quite cruel at times. But, the cruelty makes me like it even more.

FTL takes me about one hour to play through the whole game. Actually, in the beta, there was originally no way to save your game because "really? this game's too short for that". If you have an hour of free time you have the time
