quantum leach is to powerful

Post by WildCat »

quantum leach is to powerful due to the fact that you can drain energy faster than you can lower hull with the other; thus why no good team, that i have seen, ever gets the other one.

the drain is 5k a salvo i think. It should be reduced to 2.5k. ( maby not as drastic but at lest by some amount to make the upgrade not the clear choice as it is now)

i have used torpedoes because the hell that they unleash onboard is amazing...plus 10 direct shots will kill a BC
Oh its not orders I'm giving, but rather... "aggressive suggestions".

The reason why you see people getting quantum leech is right now it's literally the only way to end the game in a reasonable timeframe.

Do not nerf quantum torpedoes without also nerfing shieldtanking or else games will last forever >_<

leech a torps near where they shouldbe, it all depends on team tactic, I know a decent bc-bc fight tactic, where you didn't focus on doing anything with bc other than turning into a tank, and use a few dessys behind with torps to kill enemy hull

Chroniton torpedoes does not end the game because your opponents can just fly away and repair indefinitely.

Quantum leech reduces their fleeing potential.

Quantum leech reduces their fleeing potential.
then what is the point of having cronitron torpedos if the other is the obvious choice

allowing rookie mistakes?

The Chronitron might need some boosting, or might find some use in a new patch... if buying shield for small ships allowed to tank destroyers, maybe Chronitron could be useful again... who knows.

The flaw is not with quantum leech, the flaw is with shieldtanking. It sounds weird because chroniton is supposed to ignore shield tanking, but the BC becomes the fastest ship in the game by the late game, and the destroyer has to catch the BC before it can kill it. Quantum helps with catching more than chroniton does.

EDIT: Calad is correct, chroniton could probably use buffing.

You can't boost chron, you just can't, point is if you got 3 dessies with it and nulli, they attack bc and kill him within 10 seconds, the bc will not have time to react, so u want to lower it down to 5 seconds? that's sick!

Just do not use chrons for shield tanking in a normal combat, quantum leech on the other hand could use of some higher pricing, because atm it's cheap and fast way of doing the game.

Another suggestion to balance them is to make quantum leech power drain level be based on dessie damage upgrade, there are 4 upgrades atm, so each upgrade should not only increase the damage done, but also increase power drain by 150 with each upgrade, having it 400 at start (2000 in full 5 shots), and current 1000 fully upgraded (5000 for 5 shots). Then getting leech won't be an easy strat to pull of in a mid game (same as torpedos).
