Why is "important" under news in kanji (or maybe more like chinese... yeah chinese.) in your screenshot?

That's a great observation. I have a chrome add-on that links up with my http://wanikani.com learning and replaces words I know the japanese version of automatically. So since I know that the japanese translation of important is 大した (taishita), it automatically replaces it for me.

I took a break in August last year. I just picked it up like a week ago. I am level 14 but now I have 1800 reviews to catch up on.
