Possible emergency addition for tournament: No wrap.
Either add this before the tournament, or let's have a large conversation about something similar being implemented after the tournament.
After 90 in-game minutes, wrapping around the edge of the map is disabled. It could be the third type of 'event' in the game (Asteroids appearing, kerm appearing, and now this):
"A gravity well is forming in the center of the quadrant. You feel its pull, and know that you cannot run as far as before."
This will definitely make sure to end the game by the 2 hour mark, and will keep things interesting between 90 and 120 minutes as well, due to the new strategies the Nav will have to quickly pull out to not get caught.
To add: The reason games have the chance of going on for nearly ever is because both teams can go in the same direction forever. Whereas with this, the running team will have a harder time (overcome by good nav skill) just running away from the chasing team.

Re: Possible emergency addition for tournament: No wrap.
I like this addition. Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of upgrading the reward system to include special model rewards as well as skins, so the map is a bit broken.
However, I don't know if you noticed but I published a fix yesterday that fixed a resource bug connected to kicking people(your resources got reset). So, what I could(and probably will do) is to use my backup version and add this feature to it and publish it.
I'd like some more suggestion on the subject, but unless someone has something against it, I'll probably add it.

Never ignore coincidence. Unless, of course, you’re busy. In which case, always ignore coincidence.

This seems good as it is.
The only thing you could probably debate about is the time at when this tie-breaker would appear.
I think as early as 60 minutes would be good as well, since there should be a more or less favored team by then.

60 minutes mark sounds good to me
It would be nice if it was possible to see where the limit is. like a wall of invincible asteroids or just a red line. I would hate not knowing where the limit is except by looking at the map (the map is most certainly not the most accurate way to know).

I think 90 minutes for no-wrap is fine.
I do not think an edge map graphic needs to be added.

Simple white border like the sensor towers? Just a suggestion.

A map border may come in handy, but it is not necessary. If Siretu wants to implement that as well, I would first suggest that the actual event be included first, and perhaps on a later update add the border, since a tie-breaker will probably be needed at this high level of play.

A border like the sensor tower isn't very easy to implement since it's not circular. I wont even bother with trying to think of a way to add that right now.
