Ore Stations
People have been wanting more ways to get income.
This one does not require miners or chompers, so it can be part of an aggression strategy.
There will be 3 stations spread across the map, each one is the color of the ore it produces.
each station will auto create ore (maby 1 ore/5 seconds and can be an upgrade to increase all stations so a stronger CC can still affect the weaker CC in some cases) and it will build up on its own
Capturing will be like Company of heroes or dawn of war where you click it and your ship is unable to do anything while capturing it. it will take a separate bar to disconnect enemy control making it neutral and then being able to turn it over to you (maby the station can sort of glow the color of blue/red/or white (neutral) for whoever has control.
Getting ore. have any ship with free storage base click on station once in range the station will auto transfer its stores to ship as long as the station is controlled.
you can shoot at a station, it will destroy it but loose ore stores. (maby have the number of ore the station has shown in front of station)
pings must be upgraded before locating stations and showing the affiliation of the station

Oh its not orders I'm giving, but rather... "aggressive suggestions".

Re: Ore Stations
Another reason I immediately disagree with this; it does nothing more than make the winning team win much more than it already is. A losing team will be forced into a situation where they must deal with the towers or deal with a gap, but that makes an even larger gap due to energy loss. Especially with this idea, I feel as if people are just going to capture the three stations, man the BC, and maybe send out some wraiths to deal with enemy miners. Game set match.WhyteDragon wrote:I think a better question to ask is; should there be more methods of obtaining resources? I would like to point out that the largest method of resource gathering is always going to be mining asteroid fields. That should never change. I feel like if we start adding too many methods of resource production that doesn't require direct mining, you'll produce a game that'll end up with no miners being necessary and just 6 manning the BC while still gaining resources. And that doesn't feel right to me.
Again, I don't get why we need more methods of resource collection. I've been in many games where I've actually gotten -too many- resources between the Mass Replicator and Miners alone.

Re: Ore Stations
We have enough resource collection, besides that whould be extremely overpowered... its like adding pain to an injury.
What we need is passive resource ideas, not those ''ima get so much fed by doing nothing''.

Re: Ore Stations
That sounds like the definition of a passive resource idea.MultiDavid wrote: ''ima get so much fed by doing nothing''.
I also agree that it's not obvious that we need more ways to collect resources and I think that we should discuss that fact before coming with more suggestions on how to add more ways.
Never ignore coincidence. Unless, of course, you’re busy. In which case, always ignore coincidence.

Re: Ore Stations
Ahem, i meant passive as it is a choice for the crew of the BCs to get it, like my leviathan one for exemple, if you want you can try and kill it, if you don't it will just get out of the map after reaching the end of its path, also it whoulden't be alot of resources, just a decent ammout for your troubles
Re: Ore Stations
I think this idea could have potential.
If it requires the BC to be close to collect the mineral/s, it could force some confrontations. you wouldn't want the enemy team to sit on the red station all game long. you'd try and make them move.

Re: Ore Stations
