theres no actual way to kill you. unless its 2v1 in the hangar, the odds are 50/50. but you can run at any time with only the press of a hotkey.

then it's either shoot you down or wait for you in the hangar. so unless 3 men spend most of their time fighting you... odds are 50/50 or you'll keep two men completely busy.

I might be missing some kind of strategy but I don't see how to defeat a defensive boarder otherwise.

It's getting off topic here but I don't feel like infiltration works atm. An attacker can never win because if they get spotted they're gonna have to fend off 2v1 which they can't win. A defender can never kill the attacker because they can just leave right before they die. Basically it's just a big distraction for a lot of people that is expensive for one side and annoying for the other. It's kinda like how combat without destroyers was when hull repair was ridiculously high, a big distraction and nothing more.

It doesn't help that the only productive thing you can do while infiltrating is steal minerals, plant C4 which can be undone by free repair kits or shot before it explodes, and shooting crew, but almost never 2 at a time.

Basically, if you're behind, infiltrating won't put you ahead.

Oh no, you can do way more productive things than that. I can't even count how many times I've blocked off both the Construction and Power console right before a big BC engagement.

As a note, it is very difficult for an Infiltrator to actually escape an enemy battlecruiser while there is a bot on weapons. Even if you pull off the phase shift immediately, four seconds is not enough time to accelerate to a speed where you can actually escape. But it is very possible to do things with infiltration if you simply understand where to go and when. The main thing about infiltration is that it's primarily effective when the Battlecruiser is not manned. That means it's something you do before the end game -- that is all. I do not find it to be particularly 'ineffective.' However, I can readily agree that the launching mechanics need to be changed a bit.

I don't doubt you can have fun with it, but you have to not get spotted, hope they don't have repair kits strewn about, and hope you don't get caught. It's also pretty damn expensive to kit out for an infiltrator. The risk/reward isn't right for attackers or defenders IMO.
