Mineral packet contained no minerals

So I managed to chomp a mineral packet today, only to find that it had no minerals! what gives?

Wow...the fact that u managed that deserves the ore in the packet....if chompers can do that they can minerals i say! miners cant because they are only cutting the shell, then extracting, while chomperz eats it whole......it is known...in the lore of course

Ah yes, when Doom StarEater built his flagship, the Chompolosus, and used it to devour an entire mining facility whole. As I recall, he used the proceeds to start a shipyard of smaller frigates, which he called chompers, and they were the one of the most popular ship designs used by small time pirates before their design was adapted for military use.

So does this mean a chomper eating a miner gets the entire miners mineral inventory too?

Chompers should be able to be upgraded to have the corvette charge ability so this kind of thing is possible. (Not really, probably would never be used, but it would be fun!)

It might be used, actually. The other day I witnessed a player in a chomper eat almost an entire kerm field, and when challenged by enemy small ships, proceeded to eat a wraith AND a corvette.

I could see a boost ability also being useful for eating miners and stealing their resources, especially at the kerm fields. There, miners tend to be sitting ducks while carrying valuable resources. A wraith could simply EMP the miner, and then the chomper boosts in, presses 'q', and eats the poor miner.

lets decide if chomping a mineral packet SHOULD award its ore before moving on to other suggestions =P besides, chomper with boost? lululul, maybe an expensive item that allows for boost...but naaaaaa

Yes. Chomping a drone packet should most definitely give you the minerals, it's not like the disappear off in space anyways. I can see the argument for destroying most or all of the minerals if it gets shot down or mined to death, but a chomper should get the minerals from anything it chomps, including asteroids, drone packets, miners, and anything else it can chomp. I do not remember if chompers can chomp other chompers, but if they can, obligatory buffalo buffalo reference: chompers' Chompers chompers' Chompers chomp, chomp chompers' Chompers.
