Camera Positioning

Post by Dreadnought »

Ok...so this one is kinda big...like...really big, and i dont know why nobody has brought this up (let alone me) for so long...but here it goes

Is it just me or is the Camera a bit off when its centering a ship? like it seems easier to go attacking up then it is down because you have a larger view range, and when centered, its a bit off on the play area....it just seems...off.
Now get one thing straight, i dont mind the camera dragging a little bit behind when you are moving, if your bullrushing into things, your not going to see things as quickly as the defenders, but thats not what im talking about, its about attacking up vs attacking down....
i took some screenshots and added some amazing paint-skills
When going up

When going down

And centered

Seems to me its easier to attack up, because your opponents have less time to react because they simply cannot see you O.o
Also, i think my photos are to big, but to lazy to make them smaller O.o
You merely adopted Cruiser Command. I was born in it, molded by it.

Congratz for figuring some long known stuff out.
You know what's even more effective than attacking from the bottom?
Attacking from the sides! Widescreens ftw!

Against AIs attacking from the sides is best,
attacking against humans from the bottom is best.

Little tip when attacking from the top:
Ctrl + Shift + F :D

I always saw that as basic CC. attack from the bottom.

The enemy gate is down.

Imaginary cookies to whoever gets the reference.
Never ignore coincidence. Unless, of course, you’re busy. In which case, always ignore coincidence.

It was mentioned way before that. It was part of their success in the battle room, Bean telling Ender in the end was just a reference to their earlier experiences.
