Re: Thoughts on Moving Missiles to Nav

Alright, I'm just going to lay down why this is a bad idea.
Navigation already has a lot of power. It has Broadside, Yamato, Direction Control, Engine Boost, Tractor Beam, AND ping. It can do a shit ton. Personally, if I was going to be satisfied, I would have Yamato moved to weapons and ping moved to science console. Like, seriously, I really think ping should go on science, it simply makes more sense and the main reason it probably isn't is to force a larger rotation of stations during the early game for captain.
The main reason I can forgive broadsides being on navigation is that the whole point of broadsides is being able to fire along with regular weapons, which becomes difficult the moment you are forced to concentrate on aiming two different mechanics simultaneously. Missiles overrides this because it's a 'one time uses per item,' and I feel Yamato would also fall under this category and should also consequentially be under the same field AKA put on weapons. I understand why ping is put on navigation - it's a mechanic that movement relies heavily upon. But at the same time, I feel like the game could be far more heavily promoted in team play if we put it on science, and gave it a strong reason to be used during chases.
Lets be blunt. This is a team work game. You have to work around being forced to use multiple consoles, and therefore you need multiple people on a ship during an engagement. Missiles, a direction based mechanic, being on weapons, the actual trigger, forces communication and team work that would be wasted if you just put 'another mechanic on navigation.' It goes against the game's basis and meaning.
