Energy to hull repairs
Energy to hull repairs
Considering atm only minelayer is good for repairs, drones are sorta useless, what do you think about making it possiblt to repair hull via energy from science console? e.g. 100 hull for 1000-1500 energy, with like... 3-5 sec cooldown?
That cannot be really exploited, cause 1.5k energy is kinda lot, 1k hull will be 15k energy and full repairs is 150k.
Sometimes when you run away and have to boost killing lasts of your ship, that'd be saving chance. Plus sometimes when energy overflowing you can use it to make up for minelayer's slow repairs. So lets say that's just another feature that would enlarge gaming experience.

Re: Energy to hull repairs
I don't see why you would waste energy on this when there's free hull repairs. I know hull repairs have been pretty bad for a while, but that's just because I over-nerfed them to keep the game playable. They've been buffed again in 1.91.
Never ignore coincidence. Unless, of course, you’re busy. In which case, always ignore coincidence.
Re: Energy to hull repairs
well, i-guess we should play and see, don't think free repair should be strong thou, nurfing it was a good idea, they shouldn't really be the primary thing to repair hull with, max 1k-1,5k hull during long fight and all the asteroid damage taken if no shields are up from start

Re: Energy to hull repairs
my my ivan your portrait was awesome now its giving me a headache xD
And no we dont need energy to hull repairs unless we where going to hand it to the science console for late game, 45Y 45B 30G 60 second CD 250/second for 12 seconds (3K total extreme but science consoles are late game and its expensive! plus at that point weps can eat through 3K kinda quickly,)

Oh its not orders I'm giving, but rather... "aggressive suggestions".

Re: Energy to hull repairs
If you could repair the hull with energy then how would it be different from shields? You repair shields with energy, you repair hull with energy, whats the advantage of one over the other?

Price tag is different, a lot different. Imagine you're in small game and do not have any time for nano drones. Or you're running from other bc at high speed with 500 hull. Thats when it comes in handy, plus it'll soften power management failures a bit - if your shirlds will go down too early, and u wouldn't be able to power them up, you can spend the rest of energy to heal the hull, it is very expensive, but otherwise u'll die faster

Re: Energy to hull repairs
Don't think is a good idea, it could mess with the nessesity for teamwork, making a BC a lil closer to a Juggernaut, I think current repair methods are decent and proper

Re: Energy to hull repairs
If your shields go down 'early' you should be boned, quite frankly. Shieldhull tanking combat goes from tense to boring very quickly.
If you are straight up hull tanking, you already have plenty of options for hull repair. I could see the argument for finding something to spend energy on to improve defense, but I don't like the idea of having the hull equivalent of shield boost. They're different styles of defense, making them the same weakens the game's depth.
