What are consoles
Consoles are various computer terminals scattered around the Battlecruiser. Consoles allow marines to interact with the Battlecruiser and small ships.
Interacting with consoles
To use a console simply walk your marine into the highlighted circle (also called a beacon) found directly in front of the console you want to use. Once you reach the beacon your marine will become locked in place, the beacon will change indicating that you are occupying the console and the console will be automatically selected for you. While your marine stands fixed in the locked state you will take control of the console and will be able to use it. To get off a console, move your marine or press escape while you have the console selected. If you deselect your console while your marine is occupying it, you can click the select console tab, or simply click on the console you are using to reselect it.
Notes & Tips:
- Only 1 player can occupy a given console at one time.
- Sometimes your marine may accidentally move straight after you have occupied the console, making you disconnect. If this happens simply walk off the highlighted circle and walk back on. To avoid this, don't spam click orders to your marine, order the marine to move to the beacon only once and wait until they occupy the console.
- Using the "Switch View" button while using a console will not disconnect the user.
- Disconnecting from a console while in "space view" will automatically change the camera back to "Battlecruiser view", this can be used with the Goto menu/Directions tab to quickly navigate your marine around the Battlecruiser from a Console in "space view".
- Another tip is switching to "space view" while your marine travels to the console, make sure however that the path to the console is clear and that you do not issue other move commands to your marine otherwise he might not reach the console. Doing this allows you to see what's happening in space, while otherwise you would only see your marine running to a console. Once your marine arrives at the console it will be automatically selected, and can then be used from the "space view".
- You can disconnect afk players occupying a console using the marines "Disconnect Console" ability.
