Abit of an outdated role; The Ensign assists the Captain on the Battlecruiser. The Ensign generally handles the following sub-tasks:

Some of the subtasks are shared with the Captain.

Coordinate the Miners by telling them when to send to save time spent refining.
Place Repair Stations at every junction of the Battlecruiser so that they are within easy access of all locations.
Be prepared to become a temporary Attack Pilot if nearby miners need a Wraith or a Corvette escort, or if there is a Drone Refiner.
