bug: AI miners can't deal with map wrap being disabled
bug: AI miners can't deal with map wrap being disabled
The AI miners keep trying to go to the BC via "shortest wrap-enabled path" even after the wrap is disabled, thus causing them to end up "stuck" in a corner

no worries, Erik is on it.

In my defense, that's an entirely different issue!Caladbolg wrote:no worries, Erik is on it.

Never ignore coincidence. Unless, of course, you’re busy. In which case, always ignore coincidence.

I find them quite... similar.

Re: bug: AI miners can't deal with map wrap being disabled
The real difference is that one of them uses the edges to calculate the closest angle and should be modified to not account for the edges after 45 minutes. Easy.
The other one goes randomly and just turns a bit left and right every other tick. Which means it is harder to detect when it is actually at the edge.

first one : easy
okay.
second one : harder
is there a way at 45 minutes to make Miner AIs see the edges of the map as enemies (in other words, as soon as they see the edge, they run away)

if they did that, wouldn't they end up retreating all the way back to the BC?Caladbolg wrote: second one : harder

and actually while we are on this subject, could we have AI miners always launch from the side away from enemies if there is an enemy near the BC? they end up suiciding during a BC fight in somewhat large numbers...

Oh its not orders I'm giving, but rather... "aggressive suggestions".
